2025 Municipal Election Information to Declare Candidacy

Candidate Filing will be June 2nd - 6th, 2025 from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with the City Clerk for the following offices:
- Mayor 4 year term (January 2026-2030)
- 2 Council Seats 4 year term (January 2026-2030)
- 1 Council Seat 2 year term (January 2026-2028)
The Town of Genola, Utah will hold a Primary Municipal Election if needed on August 12, 2025. Ballots will be sent out to active registered voters 3 weeks prior to this date.
The Town of Genola, Utah will hold the General Election on November 4, 2025. Ballots will be mailed out to active registered voters 3 weeks prior to this date.
Candidates for Municipal Office must meet the following requirements:
- The person is a United States Citizen
- The person will be at least 18 years old by November 4, 2025
- The person is a registered voter in the municipality (Town of Genola, Utah)
- The person has been a legal resident of the municipality for a period of 12 consecutive months immediately before November 4, 2025.
- The person must not be mentally incompetent, convicted of a felony, treason, or a crime against the elective franchise unless their right to hold elective office has been restored.
To file in person:
- Prospective candidates must file in person at the Election Office (Town Office) at 74 West 800 South, Genola, Utah during the filing period.
Candidates must file in person unless:
- They will be out of the state or country during the entire declaration period. The candidate must send a representative with all the forms filled out, signed, and notarized. The candidate must be available by video chat while their representative is in the Election Office.
- A nomination petition is filed. Contact the Election Office for details.
Please do not wait until the last minute to file. The doors close promptly at 5:00 PM.
Voter Registration Info
Residents who are not registered to vote may register in one of the following ways:
- Mail a registration form to the Utah County Clerk's Office:

Provo, Utah 84606 - Register in person at the Utah County Clerk's Office
- Online Voter Registration is available at vote.utah.gov
- Day-of Registration can be done at a Voting Service Center on election day.
Voter Registration must be received by the County Clerk by 5 PM, 11 days prior to an election.

The candidate declaration period will run June 2 through June 6, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the City Offices and filed with the City Clerk.
